Frequently Asked Questions
The transcription is blank or nothing is being captured
Make sure you ticked "Share audio" (not just screen/video) in the Chrome screen-share dialog. This checkbox is easy to miss. Without it, no audio reaches Voxxpen. Reload the page and try again if needed.
My browser is not supported
Voxxpen requires a desktop Chromium browser — Chrome, Edge, Arc, or Brave. Firefox, Safari, and all mobile browsers do not support the tab audio capture API we rely on. There is currently no workaround for this.
Audio is detected but no text appears
The transcription engine processes audio in rolling chunks every few seconds. Silence or very low audio may produce no output. Confirm the tab you are sharing is actually playing audio (check the tab's audio indicator in your browser). If audio is playing and nothing appears after 15 seconds, stop the session and try again.
All session slots are in use — when will one free up?
Voxxpen currently supports up to 4 simultaneous live sessions globally. When all are occupied, start buttons are disabled. The slot count updates automatically every few seconds. Sessions end when a user stops transcription or their time limit is reached. Refresh the page if the HUD does not update after a few minutes.
I paid but my session token didn't appear
Return to the home page — the "Start Paid Session" button should be activated automatically after a successful payment. If it is not, hard-refresh the page (Ctrl+Shift+R). If the token still does not appear, email support@voxxpen.com with your Stripe payment reference and we will issue a token manually within 24 hours.
Can I get a refund?
If your session never started due to a technical error on our side, we will refund you in full within 7 days — email support@voxxpen.com with your Stripe reference. Sessions that were successfully started and delivered transcription output are non-refundable, as the GPU time has been consumed.
How long can a session last?
Paid sessions run for up to 4 hours. Demo sessions are limited to 2 minutes each. You can stop and download your transcript at any point during the session.
Can I use it on mobile?
No. Tab audio capture is a desktop-only browser feature and is not available on any mobile browser, including Chrome for Android or Safari for iOS. Voxxpen is designed for desktop use only.
What languages are supported?
Voxxpen currently supports 14 languages: English, Romanian, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, and Turkish. Select your language from the dropdown before starting. Using the wrong language will reduce accuracy significantly.
Is my audio stored anywhere?
Audio is processed in-memory and is never stored on our servers. Only the resulting transcript text is saved temporarily so you can copy or download it. We do not share transcript content with third parties. Sessions are deleted after they end.
My session disconnected mid-transcription
If your connection drops, the session ends and cannot be resumed. Any text already transcribed before the disconnection is lost unless you had already copied or downloaded it. We recommend downloading periodically during long sessions using the "Download" button.
I used both demo runs — can I get more?
Demo runs are limited to 2 per device per day (reset at midnight). If you need more, the paid per-session option at €5 gives you a full session of up to 4 hours.
The transcript has many errors or wrong words
Accuracy depends on audio quality. Background noise, multiple overlapping speakers, heavy accents, or a muffled microphone will reduce quality. For best results: use headphones to avoid echo, ensure only one speaker is active at a time, and select the correct language before starting.
How do I mute the audio while transcribing?
You can mute your speakers or headphones without affecting transcription — Voxxpen captures the raw tab audio stream directly, not your device's audio output. This is useful in public spaces or when you do not want to disturb others.
Is there a subscription plan?
Not currently. Voxxpen is pay-per-session at €5 per session. A session bundle (5 sessions for the price of 4) is planned and will require account login when available.
